Are you afraid of adding too much salt to your meals? Salt is necessary for humans. The human body can’t live with no sodium. Salt plays a crucial role in maintaining human health.

Key Facts

High Salt Diet Fights Fat Gain.

This will shock you.

In a study that seems to defy conventional dietary wisdom, scientists have found that adding high salt to a high fat diet actually prevents weight gain. (University of Iowa Health Care)

“This suppression of weight gain with increased sodium was due entirely to a reduced efficiency of the digestive tract to extract calories from the food that was consumed,” explain Grobe.

Low Salt Diet Increased Adrenaline.

If you don’t consume enough salt, many health problems can occur. One of them being – increased adrenaline.

The increase of adrenaline caused by salt restriction has many harmful effects, including insomnia and irritability.

Many old people have noticed that a low sodium diet disturbs their sleep, and that eating their usual amount of salt restores their ability to sleep (Peat et al., 2019)

Low Salt Diet Worsens Anxiety.

Minerals are incredibly important to neurotransmitter activity and efficiency. For example, without salt, our GABA production loses its efficiency.

This is because GABAergic nerve terminals accumulate(GABA) by a Sodium-dependent carrier mechanism (Nelson et al., 1982).

Similar to the Serotonin Transporter (SERT), which is also sodium dependent. Low salt results in higher serotonin.

Anxiety can be a start to many new health problems, if not treated instantly.

Please Remember.

Salt your meals in peace.

Salt restriction can impair insulin sensitivity, increase serotonin, increase anxiety.
